Writing with Actual Pen and Paper

Today, I walked to my mailbox and opened it to find a card from my best friend-my friend who is on speed dial. We talk…a lot. We text…a lot. We message each other on Facebook…a lot. We do not send each other handwritten cards a lot, though. I was almost giddy when I opened it to see actual handwritten, purple-inked, scribbled words meant just for me. There was something about seeing her handwriting that was simply special…and rare.

It also made me think about what I actually write on paper besides to-do lists. I think for most of us, our day-to-day writing is done electronically. So what does it take for us to pull out some old fashioned paper and pens? Well, I found that I tend to write thank you notes, love letters (yep…still write them to the hubby), and journal entries with pen. In fact, I noticed most of my pen/paper writing is “feeling” writing. I suspect I am not alone…what about you?
