Shelley Garrett joined Rockwall ISD in 2004 after a 12-year career in advertising, design, and publishing. She has served as a classroom teacher at Quest Academy and Heath High School, and served as assistant principal at Rockwall High School. Dr. Garrett took over as Director of Student & Family Services in 2012 to help parents and students navigate complicated situations in public schools, including attendance, student management, enrollment, and dropout prevention. She is passionate about works of service within the school district and in the Rockwall community. Dr. Garrett earned her bachelor’s degree at Stephen F. Austin State University in 1990, her master’s degree in journalism at University of North Texas in 1992, and her doctorate in education from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2008.
