Banned Websites Awareness Day | American Association of School Librarians AASL.

Today, AASL asks school library professionals across the country to raise awareness of the overly restrictive blocking of legitimate, educational websites and academically useful social networking tools in schools and school libraries.  We have long been aware of many life-changing works that have raised objections over the decades with various groups who attempt to censor or filter the reading choices of others.  Sept. 25th puts the spotlight on websites that have been banned and focuses on the issue of filtering used as a tool to censor information.  STAY SMART!  STAY INFORMED!
