The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza Youth Advisory Committee has issued a North Texas Student Oral History Challenge to students in grades 5-12.  It’s a way to get our students excited about oral history and President Kennedy’s memory as we all prepare for the 50th anniversary of his assassination in Dallas.

Details—including FAQs and the Application and a instructional video—are on the  website. http://jfk.org/go/education/youthadvisorycouncil/yac-oral-history-challenge  The deadline is January 10, 2014 so there’s plenty of time for students to participate.

This is the time and place for our students to get involved with their city’s history, spread the word!
