The Keller ISD Secondary Librarians are pleased to announce the 3rd Annual YAK Fest – Young Adult Keller Book Festival. This year’s festival, YAK Fest 2014, with the theme “The Edge of Escape,” will feature 25 authors including Key Note Speaker Neal Shusterman.  Teens can get their picture taken with their favorite author in “The Escape Hatch” and buy lunch from one of the food trucks on site or purchase books from The Book Carriage<http://www.bookcarriage.com/>.  So, check out the 411 below and COME TO YAK Fest 2014!!

WHEN: Saturday, January 25th, 9 AM – 5 PM

COST: It’s FREE and open to all middle and high school students, parents, teachers, librarian and anyone who just likes a good YA read.

OPEN DOOR: Come when you can & stay for as long as you like;  of course we want you there all day!

Terry Roper, Library Consultant for Region 10 ESC. has been an educator/librarian in the North Texas area for 22 years. She has worked on elementary and high school campuses as well as central administration. Ms. Roper has experience dealing with English language learners of all levels and works closely with the Region 10 Literacy Team. Terry loves dealing with literacy and information dissemination and talking about book stuff!
