Consider Leading by Volunteering! 

Great way to network and help the profession!

Would you like to LEAD OUT LOUD by volunteering at the annual Texas Library Association Conference?  The conference will take place in San Antonio this year, April 8th through April 11th.

Volunteers should be willing to volunteer for a minimum of two consecutive hours.  While librarians must be registered for the conference, paraprofessionals and support staff who are not registered for the conference will receive a complimentary exhibits-only pass with four hours of volunteer service.

Available areas to volunteer include:

  • Author Autographing Area
  • Disaster Relief Raffle Tickets
  • Entertainment
  • Meeting Room Assistance
  • Exhibits
  • Health (Fun Run)
  • Hospitality
  • Information
  • Internet Room
  • Placement Center
  • Registration
  • TLA Store
  • Transportation
  • Volunteer Check-in

Terry Roper, Library Consultant for Region 10 ESC. has been an educator/librarian in the North Texas area for 22 years. She has worked on elementary and high school campuses as well as central administration. Ms. Roper has experience dealing with English language learners of all levels and works closely with the Region 10 Literacy Team. Terry loves dealing with literacy and information dissemination and talking about book stuff!
