Fairy Tale and Flip FlopsThe 2013 Region 10 Pre-K Boot Camp 2013, Fairy Tales and Flip-Flops, took place earlier this week and it was a blast! Hopefully you were there with us, but in case you missed it, here are some of the highlights:

  • The Three Bears participated in a writing workshop that stressed the importance of Mama and Papa Bear sharing their bear family history with their little one as they practiced writing personal books.
  • Presenters and participants took a journey with the famous Bremen Town Musicians and experienced developmentally appropriate learning through art, music and drama.
  • The Three Little Pigs helped participants engage in hands on activities in math and science and discover creative ways to integrate technology in the preschool classroom.
  • The Ugly Duckling and Friends learned how social/emotional development and physical/gross motor development can help young children live happily ever after.

There were over 100 participants in attendance for this event, so if you missed it, hopefully you’ll be able to check it out next year! Every year we have a new theme with new presentations. Pre-K Boot Camp is becoming a favorite event for early childhood educators in our region, and many people attend year after year!

Now, for the Region 10 Preschool Team, it’s full steam ahead to the Early Childhood Summer Institute (ECSI)! The theme for ECSI this year is “iCommunicate” and we hope to see you in Frisco for this event on July 16, 17, and 18!
